Love Death + Robots: For He Can Creep - Above London

One of my favorite tasks for Love Death + Robots, For He Can Creep was to conceptualize the scene where the Devil takes Jeoffry for a walk about London in an attempt to persuade him to give up the Poet in exchange for treats.

The brief was to create a Celestial stage above London inspired by 18th Century astronomical charts with Classical monsters and creatures.

The key challenge was to design how Jeoffry and the Devil would walk in the air. The solution was to create a flat cloud formation that was opaque that moved along with the characters as they took a step forward.

A really awesome moment after presenting this concept was that Director Emily Dean and the team at BLUR loved the composition so much they changed the storyboard and anamatic to match (As you can see in the last slide the final frame in the episode)
